JUNE CAROLINE CARTER With sadness, we announce the passing of June Caroline Carter (nee Smith) on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Grace Hospice. Lovingly remembered by daughter Wendy (Len), grandchildren Todd (Brooke), Caleigh (Nigel), Tressa; son Greg (Joan), grandchildren Chelsa and Ian; son Grant (Adele), grandsons Brett, Brady; daughter Leesa, grandchildren Dana and Derek; and son Scott (LeeAnn) grandson Liam. Mom will be missed by her two sisters, Muriel Kille and Audrey (Lionel) Brathwaite; as well as her cousins, nieces and nephews. Dear Mom (Gramma) was born on June 10, 1929, in Boissevain, growing up on the farm near Ninga, MB, and moving to Brandon as a teenager. She worked at various jobs throughout her lifetime and retired after a 22 year career with Canada Safeway. Mom loved to bake apple pies and biscuits, do the Jumble word puzzles and visit tearooms. She enjoyed trips to Grand Forks and looked forward to visits with family members and her special grandchildren. In retirement, Mom spent many hours visiting and supporting her senior friends. Special heartfelt thanks to the wonderful care given to our mom, during her stay at Riverview and Grace Hospice. Sincere thanks to the Victoria Hospital Cancer Care team, as well as Drs. Maxwell, Ogarenko, Hutfluss and Wong. A private family service will be held, followed by internment at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Brandon, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba or Grace Hospice would be appreciated. REMEMBER GRAMMA, YOU WERE THE ULTIMATE.

  • Heartfelt sympathies to you Scott & family. She was such a strong woman and a great mother to you growing up and then grandmother to your son. Thinking of you. Jan - Posted by: Janet Amorim (friend to Scott) on: Feb 21, 2012

  • God truly knew that I would need your Mom with me when my Mom passed away. Your Mom came, even when she had already been there that day to see my Mother, to help me. That made a very special bond between June and me. She loved my Mom and we loved her. - Posted by: Claudia (Cousin) on: Feb 20, 2012

  • Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. The passing of a Mother and Grandmother is a very painful thing. It was not long ago when we went through the painful loss of our Dad's passing. I pray for you, the very real comfort that can only come from God. In the days ahead enjoy the wonderful memories that you have of her. They will be painful to think of, but something you will have of hers forever. Love you guys and remember that we care and are here if there is anything we can do for you - Posted by: Omer and Brenda Kitchen (friends of the McKelvey Family) on: Feb 19, 2012

  • So sorry to hear about the passing of your mom Grant. - Posted by: Jerry & Darlene Rhodes (friend) on: Feb 18, 2012
