EDWARD SCHWEEN Sadly we lost a gentle soul on the evening of Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Edward Schween passed away peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg at the age of 93 years. Left to mourn, with broken hearts, is his wife of 63 years of marriage, Thelma; grandson, Matthew (Shannon); granddaughter, Chelsea (Brodie); daughter-in-law, Giselle; as well he will be sadly missed by his Robinson in-laws, especially Gordon and Elaine and their children and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his much loved only child, Rick, in December, 2010, at Ingolf, Ontario. In compliance with Ed's wishes, there will be no Funeral Service and his ashes will join Rick's near the shoreline at Ingolf. The Schween family would like to thank the staff of Tower 7, Deer Lodge Centre, for their unlimited compassion, loving hands and caring hearts. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you so wish, donations may be made in Ed's memory to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Chapter, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2 or the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg MB R3J 0L3.

My condolences to Ed's family on the loss of their husband, grandfather and father-in-law. Ed was a mentor in the grocery business and friend. His legacy will live on in his grandchildren. - Posted by: Barbara Maguire (Friend) on: Feb 18, 2012

I remember Edward, or Eddie as I knew him, from when I was a child and he worked as a butcher at my father's grocery store, Serv-Well Supermarkets. He was so kind. He always had a big smile on his face, and would give me a candy or other treat when I would come to say hi to him behind the butcher counter. I know that my father valued him very much as an employee. I hope that you find some comfort at this time by all the good memories that you have, and knowing how many lives he touched. - Posted by: Leslie Kaufman () on: Feb 18, 2012
