Grandchildren; Mike (Mitsy), Kathy (Livio) , Charlie (Katlin), Kim (Craig), Chad (Farrah), Andrea (Clint), Graeme (Robyn) and Ryan along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was also very proud of her thirteen great-grandchildren. Mary was born in Argyle Manitoba and spent her childhood days growing up on the family farm. At the age of twenty-one she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served on active duty as a Corporal from 1942-1946. When Mary finished her tour of duty with the Air Force she took employment with Winnipeg Hydro in Slave Falls, Pointe du Bois where she met her husband Ole and was later married on June 21,1947 in Winnipeg. Mary and Ole resided in Milner Ridge and Pointe du Bois while raising their family. In 1971 they moved to Lac du Bonnet where mom resided in the family home until her passing. Mary was very involved with the St. John's Anglican Church serving as a member of the Ladies A.C.W.(Anglican Church Women). She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #164 and was given the honour of laying the wreath as Silver Cross Mother at several Remembrance Day services. Mom was a very loving and caring person with a hearty, infectious laugh and a wonderful sense of humour. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, had a great love for music and also enjoyed putskiing around in her garden. We will miss her phone calls regarding inclement weather and interesting tv shows that she was watching. Mom loved us all deeply and made each family member feel special in her kind a caring ways. Special thanks to Lisa Kroeker, NP, Dr. R.van Gend and all the wonderful staff at Pinawa Hospital for the excellent care given to mom. Her family would like to express genuine gratitude to all her home care workers for the excellent care over the years. Celebration of Mary's life will be held at St. John's Anglican Church in Lac du Bonnet on February 23 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Giroux officiating. I have many memories from when our family lived next door to yours. Your mother was a wonderful person and I remember her very fondly. I am on holiday out of the country right now and am very sorry that I will not be able to attend your mom's funeral. I know my mom Terry will be upset also that we will not be there. So I would like to extend deepest sympathies to your family from ours. Our thoughts and prayers are with you... I first knew Mary's husband Ole when I was a little girl living on a neighbouring farm in Riverland, Manitoba. In later years while living in Lac du Bonnet my parents, Ernie and Jessie, were great friends of the Fors family. My mother so often talked about Mary working with her at the church. Some of my fondest memories are of going home to Lac du Bonnet and catching up on news of the town's people that I once knew. Both my parents are gone now and I know so few people in the town whereas I once knew them all. Reading of Mary's passing is another of the "old timers" gone and one less memory link I have to my childhood growing up years. Sincere condolences to the family. She will be missed. With caring thoughts, Shirley Augustine - Posted by: Shirley Augustine (Daughter of Ernie and Jessie Richmond who were friends of the Fors family for many years.) on: Feb 21, 2012
