Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA DABRUS (nee SZTABA) It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Anna. Anna passed away peacefully on February 19, 2012. Anna was born in Boldury, Poland. She endured many losses and hardships early in her life as a result of the war in Europe; losing both parents and two siblings during the war. After her time at a German work camp, she sought to come to Canada in 1948. ln 1950, in Winnipeg, she met and married her beloved and late husband, Michael. Anna and Michael lived happily in Winnipeg for many years raising their family. On Michael's retirement in 1988, they moved to Victoria where they together enjoyed the warmer climate and scenic beauty of the city. Anna is survived by her daughters, Virginia (Ivan), Caroline (Randy) and Kathy (Todd), as well as her three grandchildren, Christina, Michael and Daniel; all who loved her dearly. She is also survived by her sister Jean and nephew Christopher. Anna will be remembered for her devotion to and love for her family, especially her grandchildren. Anna was a highly skilled seamstress. She loved gardening and had the ability to make all things grow. She also enjoyed cooking and could replicate a recipe by just tasting the dish. We all appreciated her quiet gentleness and friendship. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Parish, 2060 Haultain Street, Victoria, on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 12:10 p.m. The family would like to thank Dr. David Williams for his compassionate care and the dedicated and caring staff at the Berwick on Shelbourne. ln lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
