PAUL ZALUSKI September 10, 1916 - February 21, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family of Paul Zaluski announce his passing on February 21, 2012 at the age of 95, joining his wife Nellie in the house of the Lord. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his seven children: Arthur (Phyllis), Roy (Judy), Larry (Violet), Sally (Don), Louis (Wendy), Margaret, and Wally (Cheryl); 16 grandchildren: Glen (Tabby), Chris (Tera), Michael (Patricia), Leona, Jolene (Geoff), Tina (Mike), Jonathon, Lindsay, Leanne (Brad), Matthew, Nicole, Melissa, Allyson, Clayton, Brent, and Ryan, and six great-grandchildren: Joshua, Tanner, Shana, Charli-Ann, Evan and Jackson. Dad is also survived by his sisters: Margaret Carlson, Jean Kizlyk, Ethel (Carl) Rebeck; his brother Mike (Virginia) Zaluski; sister-in-law Vicky Fedorowich, and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his wife Nellie, of 44 years, Dad was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Maria; brothers Pete, Steve, Nick, Bill; sisters Anne and Nettie; daughters-in-law Jill and Cheryl, and grandson Glen. Dad was born September 10, 1916 in Polson, Manitoba, where he grew up on the family farm. As a young man working, Dad experienced the hardships of the thirties and depression days. Dad worked for the Canadian Government, helping build the Trans-Canada Highway East. In 1943 Dad married our dear mother Nellie. Together they bought a farm and raised their children in the Polson District. Dad was an active member of the Polson Church and Community Hall. In 1981 when Dad turned 65, he and mom retired from farming and moved to Teulon, MB. Dad loved retirement, growing a large garden and sharing vegetables with his children and neighbours. Dad joined various senior groups, attended dances, played card tournaments, bingo and carpet bowling. Dad loved to sing. From singing Ukrainian Christmas carols to old Ukrainian folk songs of the past, always in harmony. He also loved picking mushrooms in the spring and fall. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and all his relatives and friends. Pallbearers: Chris Zaluski, Michael Zaluski, Jonathon Zaluski, Matthew Zaluski, Clayton Orne-Zaluski and Brent Orne-Zaluski. The family would like to thank the staff at Teulon Memorial Hospital for all their love and care. Prayers will be held on Friday, February 24 at 7:00 p.m., at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 10:00 a.m., at Komarno Ukrainian Catholic Church, Komarno, Manitoba. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Polson Cemetery. Vichnaya Pamyat' MACKENZIE FUNERAL CHAPEL TEULON (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net

He was a kind and wonderful man. He used to play cards with my parents and they always looked forward to those times. He had a wonderful laugh and one never knew when he was going to play a trick or joke on someone. My thoughts are with your family at this time. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Marilyn Wityshyn (Polson MB) on: Feb 25, 2012

My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Fond memories of your dad will comfort you always. He was a good neighbour, help me many times. His sense of humour will be fondly remembered. You could set your clock by when Paul went across my yard to visit the Lodge every evening. May you rest in peace dear neighbour. - Posted by: Mary Ptashynski (Neighbour) on: Feb 25, 2012

We will always remember his great sense of humour, the cigarette that was always present and in one corner of his mouth and the little party of his own at the end of a dance when he would start singing songs off in the corner of Polson Hall with whoever he could get to join him. - Posted by: Florence & Bill Chitz & family (Long-time neighbours from the community of Polson MB) on: Feb 24, 2012
