Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAURICE GERELUS April 23, 1925 February 15, 2012 Maurice Gerelus, age 86, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on February 15, 2012, at the St. Boniface Hospital. Left to forever cherish his memory is his loving wife, of 61 years, Audrey, daughter Rita (Robert) and son-in-law Jim. Maurice had a special relationship with his grandchildren Kevin, Kelly, David and Dean. He is also survived by his sisters Phyllis (Jack) and Lena (Bill), brothers Joe (Nellie) and Nick (Muriel) and sisters-in-law Levinia, Elsie, Victoria, Jean and Gina. Maurice was predeceased by his beloved daughter Brenda, his parents and several of his brothers and sisters. Maurice, one of 16 children, was born in Seech, MB. As a young man, he moved to Winnipeg and met the love of his life, Audrey, who he married in 1950. Maurice enjoyed his work in Winnipeg's garment industry, where he spent most of his career. He was a devoted family man with a love for people, gardening, the outdoors and adventure. Special thanks to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and support. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Maurice's life will take place on Saturday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Private family interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Suite 200, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or a charity of choice.
