Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE KATHLEEN GIBSON (nee LANE) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Joyce with her daughter by her side on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at West Park Manor Personal Care Home at the age of 91 years. Remaining to forever cherish Nan's memory are daughter Brenda Hornsby; sons Glenn Gibson, Roy (Penny) Gibson, Lorne Gibson (Ellen) and Cameron (Kim) Gibson; 15 grandchildren: Grant (Beatrix) Hornsby, Brent Hornsby (Ana), Shannon (Jason) Currier, Devon Gibson (Melissa), Beau Gibson, Travis (Lori) Gibson, Amanda (Martino) Dotoli, Conor Gibson, Cody Gibson, Landon Gibson, Lane Gibson, Lauren Gibson, Liam Gibson, Danika Gibson, Erika Gibson and 14 great-grand-children. She was predeceased by her brothers Bill, Ron; sister Dorothy; and her husband Cliff. Joyce was born in Bournemouth, England on May 17, 1920 and immigrated to Canada in 1946 as an English war bride. She and her husband Cliff settled in Winnipeg and began raising their family after the Second World War. Joyce worked for Gibson and Sveinson Printing for many years, then with the Province of Manitoba for 15 years, and later with Central Park Lodge. Her greatest achievement was to be a wonderful mother to her five children. She was a kind and gentle soul completely devoted to her family and would do anything for them. Joyce loved her many grandchildren and always found time to babysit and make wonderful Sunday suppers along with lots of hugs and treats. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of West Park Manor for their loving care. A Celebration of Joyce's Life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. with tributes at 4:00 p.m. in Thomson in the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Joyce's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or to a no-kill animal shelter of your choice. You never asked for favors, and yet you did them every day You never asked for help, and yet you gave so much away You never asked for gratitude, and yet our whole life through We'll always be so grateful just to have had your love and you.

So sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother...The Gibson Family were our neighbors over fifty years ago on Cambridge St in Winnipeg. There are still many memories of the joyful times and many laughs we had in those days. Please take care of yourselves.
