THOMAS CAROL MONTGOMERY Tom passed away peacefully on February 26, 2012 at Grace Hospice at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his sister Mary; niece Mary Lynne and her husband Tom Fischer; Darcy, Darren, Katelyn and Keenan Blackburn; Kelly, Angela, Mackenzie and Liam Montgomery; friend Irene Gayleard and family; best buddy and Lodge brother, Don Swaffer; and many other nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his wife Marilyn; companions Stella and Helen; parents James and Elizabeth; brothers Jim (Clarice) and Bill (Amy); brother-in-law Ed Kolaski; and his beloved nephew, George Thomas Montgomery, who was like a son to him. Tom was a journeyman electrician, retiring from Red River College at the age of 65. He was a proud member of Acacia Masonic Lodge and a life member of Prince Edward Legion #81. In his later years, Tom was happiest spending summers at Uncle Tom's Haven in Wildwood Park Resort in Winnipeg Beach. He enjoyed these times with family and friends immensely. A memorial service will be held at the East Kildonan Masonic Temple, 205 Kimberly Avenue on Thursday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Prince Edward Legion Ladies Auxiliary, 300 Trent Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2K 1E7.

  • Uncle Tom has been greatly missed. He played a huge role in my family and has always stood by my side no matter what choices I made. The kiddies will definitely miss your hugs and kisses, as will I. They keep asking when you're coming back and it's so hard to say you aren't. We all miss you so much. Love you forever and always.   • I will miss uncle Tom out at Wildwood Park. You always felt welcome to come for a visit. He enjoyed everyone coming over to say hi and catch up on what was going on.
