JERRY A. LEWIS On February 24, 2012 after a lengthy illness with Huntington Disease, Jerry aged 60 passed away peacefully at the Misericordia Place Nursing Home. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Dorothy and sister-in-law Brenda, Jerry leaves behind his wife Debbie, sons Christopher and Jason (Lauri Jane), grandson Justin, brother-in-law Terry (Jane), sister-in-law Susan (Rick), nieces Christine and Katie, nephews Thomas and Ian, father-in-law Morris and mother-in-law Inez (Lee). He is also survived by Aunts Lois and Mary Ann and numerous cousins. Jerry was born and raised in Winnipeg, graduating from Glen Lawn Collegiate. After marrying Debbie in 1971 they moved to Vancouver, coming back home in 1973. He did a variety of jobs and then went on to be a sheet metal worker. He worked for Basar Heating for five years and then started his own company, Lewis Heating working until 1997. Jerry went to live at Miz Place in March 2000, making many friends with the staff and other people living there over the years. Jerry will be sadly missed and mostly remembered by all who knew him in healthier times. He loved many sports including volleyball and water skiing at Toniata Beach where his family camped for many years. The family would like to extend our most heartfelt thanks for all the kindness and care given to Jerry for those 12 long years at Miz Place. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating Jerry's life will be held at Thomson In The Park 1291 McGillivray Blvd. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerry's memory to the Huntington Society of Canada, 200 Woodlawn St. Winnipeg, MB R2J 2H7.
