Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Would someone in the Gillies Family please contact me? I am searching for my great grandfather Alexander Marshall Gillies, born 1862 in Mallaig, who went to South America in 1911. We would like to find out what happened to him. With thanks, Gillian - Posted by: Gillian (possible relative) on: Nov 15, 2014

  • Thankyou Uncle Sandy for being a one of a kind favorite uncle! My sister Alyssa and I always anticipated your visits, as we got to do some of the funniest, and always coolest things with you. We would laugh and laugh from morning till bedtime and couldn't wait to do whatever it was that day, again and again the next. We will never forget "the drills" or hanging upside down by our ankles at Bowness park. You bought us our very first CDs! And I lost one of my first teeth on a zip line with you, and you spent hours trying to find a Rock for the tooth fairy that resembled my lost tooth. We finally did! Thankyou for saving my dad's life. We are forever grateful. Thankyou for meeting and marrying our auntie Meryle and giving us such beautiful intelligent cousins May you rest in peace alongside Nana and Joe, and all the angels surrounding you. I'm sure Fuzz is near by too!! Our condolences Auntie Meryle, Ben, Jamie and Graeme What a warm and absolutely wonderful service you had put together. We love you all dearly! - Posted by: Les Gillies (Niece) on: Aug 02, 2013

  • My deepest condolences Meryle. You and Sandy kindly befriended me while I was staying in Edmonton with Dad. I remember watching the Oscars with you guys and Sandy kept me in stitches with laughter. And those cards he made - I used to look forward to seeing his latest creation. What a terrific mind at work. • Meryle and family: Our heartfelt condolences on Sandy's passing. To Benjamin, Jamie and Graeme, we know you have inherited the traits of capability and compassion which marked your father's varied career in public service.
