My heart breaks that you are gone Wally. From go-karting down your street to hanging out at A&W on late summer nights smoking our bike tires in patches of oil pan drippings, to working with you on your '53 Mercury truck (or was it a '56 Ford), I have the fondest of memories. I will miss you old friend and will always regret that our paths will not have another chance to reconnect. To your wife and kids, your brothers and sisters, and to your dad, may you all find God's peace, comfort, and strength during this sad time. - Posted by: Ken Epp (Childhood friend) on: Mar 11, 2012

I first met Walter when he was about 16. Even though I was about 12 years older than him we became good friends. We both loved cars and trucks. Walter patiently taught me how to weld many years ago. He was always free with his advice and help. He was a great teacher to his students as well as to myself. I always enjoyed his company, and will treasure our times spent at car shows or just hanging out checking out cars. I'm going to miss you Walter. To Karin and James and Jessie, I pray for peace and strength for you at this sad time. - Posted by: Paul Horch (Friend) on: Mar 10, 2012

I met Walter the very first week that I moved into the neighborhood. I was taking my dog for her daily walk when Walter and his dog were outside on their front yard. As the conversation went on, we both discovered that we were both teachers that taught in the same school division. My prayers go out to Karin and family. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Kim Kozak (Former neighbor/ Collegue) on: Mar 09, 2012

I was really shocked to hear of Wally's passing. I haven't seen him in several years but I have nothing but fond memories from my childhood. He could always make me laugh with that irreverent sense of humor. Hopefully the family can take comfort in the positive influence he had on many people's lives. - Posted by: Darcy Penner () on: Mar 09, 2012

Mr. Janzen was the greatest teacher I've ever had. He knew how to make me laugh when I was having a bad day. He cracked the best jokes, and gave the best advice. He was such a great teacher and was very supportive of having a female in his power mechanics class. No one could ever replace you. You taught so many kids such valuable things that we will never forget. - Posted by: Chyna (Student) on: Mar 08, 2012
