JOHN RODGER PITCAIRN John Rodger Pitcairn, 76, passed away from cancer on February 27 at his home in Ross CA. John had a successful career as a Chartered Accountant in the U.S. and Canada, and served as an expert witness in economic damage cases throughout the world. John was predeceased by his first wife Bernice in 2001. The following year, he met Maria Van Buskirk, a recent widow and they married in 2003. John and Maria supported many cultural, educational and humanitarian organizations including the University of Winnipeg. John served as President of Marin Symphony and also as Chairman of the Board. He also served on the boards of the San Francisco Opera and Santa Barbara Opera from 2010 until his passing. He was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ross, the St. Francis Yacht Club and the Rolls Royce Owners' Club. John is survived by his wife, his son Rodger of Washington DC, and his brother Lawrence (Joan) and his sister Joanne Craig (Barry) both of Winnipeg, as well as extended family. John will be remembered for his philanthropy and his passion for music, travel and life. A service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ross on April 1. A charitable donation in his memory would be appreciated.
