John grew up on the family farm and went to school in Pembroke District (Gladstone). He joined the RCAF during the Second World War. After returning home he was employed by the Manitoba Power Commission until 1953. He then was employed by the Solicitor General (Stony Mountain Penitentiary) and retired after 30 years service. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My Uncle Jock will be missed by me. I could sit for hours listening to him recite Robert Service. My nick name will be lost as Jock was the last to call me Gus. - Posted by: Garry Winton (Nephew) on: Mar 16, 2012

  • I worked with Jock at Bristol and enjoyed every minute.I basically received a Phd from him in tactics, security, and human nature. Jock was a detail man, nothing got by him. Our first big adventure was the blizzard of 86, we worked nonstop, for 3 days. Well, one of us did. I was 23 years younger, but I could not keep up with him. I may have heard a little more of the poems of Robert W. Service than I needed, but Jock's enthusiasm for presenting these on long nightshifts was contagious. Thanks for everything Jock. - Posted by: chris law (coworker) on: Mar 14, 2012

  • I got to know Jock through the Masonic Lodge. He was a very good Mason if I can use those terms. He was quite the gentleman as well and I enjoyed Jock's company very much. Bob Crawley. - Posted by: Robert Crawley (Masonic Relationship) on: Mar 13, 2012
