WILLIAM MICHAEL SIRACK August 9, 1953 - March 10, 2012 Bill Sirack beloved husband, brother, and uncle passed away suddenly but peacefully Saturday, March 10, 2012 vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Bill will be missed more than words can say by his wife of 33 years, Marlene. Recent passing of his sisters Carol and Sandra, as well as his brother-in-law Cliff, took an emotional toll on Bill, but he showed great strength stepping up to be there for his nieces and nephews. His support will be profoundly missed. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Ann. He is survived by his sister Judy (Marsh) and his brother Bob (Laraine), parents-in-law George and Peggy and brothers-in-law Lanny (Cheryl), Trent (Elizabeth) and Duane (Suzanne) as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He will be particularly missed by his sister, Judy (Marsh), nieces Kristin (Geoff), Erin (Thom), Janna, and Sharon, nephew Ian (Glenys); great-niece Kylar and great-nephews, Duncan, Nicholas and Campbell. An exceptional husband, uncle, and friend, Bill will be deeply missed by a close circle of friends and family who love him dearly. Born and raised in Winnipeg, he attended Charleswood Collegiate, and spent his entire career with Manitoba Telecom Services, working as a technician up until his passing. Bill loved movies and music, always having the latest and greatest technology to show them off. Frequently upgrading equipment after finding out one of his friends had recently purchased something new. A very passionate winemaker; frequently sharing his best vintages with friends and family while enjoying good company, good food and honest conversation. While physical injuries had slowed him down recently, Bill was always an enthusiastic outdoorsman enjoying, camping, fishing, and cycling. Bill loved to travel with Marlene, photographing their adventures. Puerto Vallarta held a special place in his heart. He and Marlene never missed a winter get-away and spent over 25 years sharing his recipe for the perfect margarita with friends both old and new, and if you were lucky he might even have shared his good tequila. It is comforting to know that he spent his final moments in a place he loved so much. Marlene wishes to thank family and friends for the help and support that was so generously given. Special thanks go out to friends in Puerto Vallarta: Bill and Donna, Yordi and Norma, and from Winnipeg to Ian and Glenys, Duane and Suzanne, Trent and Elizabeth. A memorial celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. If you wish, a donation can be made in his memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or CancerCare Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Dear Marlene, we were shocked to see the notice in the paper. Tom and I have often thought back to the houseboat trip on Lake of the Woods years ago, where I recall that Bill was the king of Trivial Pursuit! and also the great music that he brought along. I will miss not running into him in the Safeway! Rosanne sends her condolences as well. - Posted by: Elaine and Tom Molinski, and Rosanne Birt (Friend) on: Apr 26, 2012

  • Bill and I worked together on many jobs over the years at MTS. We became friends and often teased & tormented each other when the opportunity presented itself. I will miss his personality and knowledge whether on the job or running into him at Safeway. - Posted by: Pat Gibson (co-worker) on: Mar 20, 2012

  • Marlene my heart goes out to you and yours. Bill was truly one of the few "Great" guys left at MTS. I can't tell you the number of times we all called upon him for his expertise and honest opinions. He got me out of more technical jams than I could count!
