STEFANIA (STELLA) SYWAK (nee KOWAL) In great sadness we announce the passing of Stefania on March 6, 2012. Stefania was born October 5, 1925 in western Ukraine. She immigrated to Canada in 1945 and eventually settled in Winnipeg where she met her future husband, Iwan (John) Sywak. Together they worked hard to establish themselves and raised two children Iris (Orysia) and Bohdan. Throughout all her days in Canada, she continued to support her extended family in Ukraine. She loved her flower garden and visiting with family and friends. Her greatest love was her four grandchildren-Andrea, Taryn, Daria and Ashley. Stefania was predeceased by two brothers, Jacob and Joseph. She is survived by two brothers Stephen and Michael both residing in Ukraine. She leaves to mourn her husband, John of 62 years. Stefania will be sadly missed by her daughter, Orysia (Andrew) Bemister; son, Bohdan (Susan) Sywak; granddaughters Andrea (Jade) Bemister-Youck, Taryn Bemister, Daria Sywak, Ashley Sywak and great-grandsons Zenin and Ryder Youck as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Ukraine. She will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity. A private service was held on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Baba, we love you and miss you. May her memory live forever, and may her soul rest in peace. VICHNAYA PAMYAT
