Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDORREIN WINONA CARRIE (nee TRACY) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the age of 95. Mom was born in Winnipeg on October 23, 1916 and was the fifth of seven children born to William and Minnie Tracy. Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Jim Carrie (Marjorie), Dan Carrie (Jeannette), Lorraine Bauer, Don Carrie (Jan), Roy Carrie (Ann); 11 grandchildren, Todd, Troy, Jason, Amber, Brad, Leslie, Chad, Ryan, David, Jill and Kendra; 11 great-grandchildren, Tyrenn, Meika, Lorraine, Faith, Hope, CJ, Cassandra, Danny, Anika, Conan and Whitley; sister Bernice McNabb of Richmond, BC and brother Del Tracy of Ottawa, ON. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Elmore Carrie in 1960 and brothers, Bill, Frank, Al and Ormand. With five children to raise, mom returned to college at the age of 44 and after graduating started a career with the Winnipeg School Board Library until her retirement at the age of 67. Mom was a very private person and her family meant everything to her. She enjoyed a good game of cards (which she usually won), crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and going to the casino. She was always positive and cheerful and will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.

Deepest sympathy to the Carrie Family. Dorrein was my supervisor in the Technical Services Dept. at Teachers Library Resource Centre and Library Media Services from 1974 until her retirement. She was great to work with. I remember Dorrein and Josie Popiel always playing cards. Wishing the family all the best. - Posted by: Eva Fleming (co-worker) on: Mar 22, 2012

Condolences to the Carrie Family. It was my pleasure to hire and work with Dorrein to work with us in library development in Winnipeg School Division. She was thoroughly reliable and lead her team in Technical Services well. We appreciated her participation in all our activities, and in the support she gave to co-workers. I hope you will have many warm memories to carry you though this stressful time, as many of us do. All the best. - Posted by: Gerald R. Brown (Chief Librarian, Winnipeg School Division No. 1 (Retired)) on: Mar 17, 2012
