Ettie and Rube were very important to me. They came into my life when I was ten or eleven years old. They blew into our small town, Lac du Bonnet, and stole the hearts of many in the community. I was very proud of them. We were the only Jews living in the town and I clung to the fact that they were loved by so many, an important thing for Jews in those days. I believe that the three of us had a soft spot in our hearts for one another. I still see them, young and happy and very much in love. To the three "kids" I baby sat, my heart goes out to you for your great loss. Much love to you all, cousin Shirley. - Posted by: shirley macklin (cousin) on: Mar 19, 2012
