ROMAN NAUMIUK It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Roman Naumiuk. Roman passed away unexpectedly in his home on March 13, 2012 at the age of 57. Roman is survived by his two sons Roman (Jr.) and Alexander (AJ). He also leaves to mourn his passing his mother Helen, sister Irene, brother Myron, and his four nieces Charlene, Melissa, Jessica and Rachael. He was predeceased by his father Peter. Roman was born on March 30, 1954 in Radom, Poland. Immigrating to Canada at the age of nine, Roman developed into a top athlete and became a proud member of the Miles Mac Buckeys men's volleyball team. During this time, he acquired traits from his father and became a well accomplished carpenter. He later graduated from the University of Manitoba and went on to work at Selkirk Mental Health Centre as a Therapeutic Recreational Specialist. Prayers will be said on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. also at Cropo. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and in honour of Roman's dedication to his sons' involvement in sports, those wishing to make expressions of sympathy are invited to make donations to the Sons of Italy Lions Soccer Club, 1055 Wilkes Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3M 0W4 or the Firefighters Burn Fund Inc., 303-83 Garry Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4J9. 586-8044

Prayers will be held on Friday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 1:00 p.m. also at the Chapel. Dear Karen, My deepest sympathy on the loss of your best friend and husband, Roman. I am so sorry as I just got home from winter in the south and was unable to be there for you earlier. May you have comfort in the days ahead with treasured memories. You two worked so well together at work and in fun times. We had a great time all together last fall. I too feel very blessed to have known and worked with Roman. His pleasant and gentle personality and his expertise in recreational therapy encouraged patients and staff alike to participate in events and/or simply hang out at the rec hall. His sudden passing is a huge loss and a very sad time for many.
