Elle était membre de la Congrégation des Missionnaires Oblates de Saint-Boniface depuis 65 ans. Olivine naquit à Sainte-Geneviève, MB, le 9 février 1920. Son père, Ferdinand Fiola, était natif de Rimouski, QC et sa mère, Noëlie Brisson était native de La Broquerie, MB. Elle a été précédée dans la mort par ses parents, ses surs Joséphine, Angèle (feu Auguste Proulx), Marie (feu Hubert Hacault), Armandine, Elisa (feu Charles Auguste Roy), Thérèse (Hubert Robidoux), Florida (Gaëtan Hutlet), et par ses frères Joseph (feue Madeleine Ledet), Arthur (en bas âge), Arthur (feue Jeannette Baron), Pierre, Emilien (feue Aurélie Morin), Aimé, Louis, Amédé, Jules et une belle-soeur, Dora Lebrun (Rosaire). Elle laisse dans le deuil, outre les membres de sa famille religieuse, son frère, Rosaire, ses belles-surs Elmire Morin (Pierre), Jeanne Hacault (Louis), Connie Rios (Amédé), Claire Robidoux (Jules), ses beaux-frères Hubert Robidoux (Thérèse), et Gaëtan Hutlet (Florida), ainsi que nombreux neveux, nièces et arrières petits-neveux et petites-nièces. Les prières seront le jeudi soir, 22 mars 2012 à 19 h 30 en la chapelle de la Villa Aulneau, 601 rue Aulneau, Winnipeg, MB. Visionnement aura lieu le vendredi matin, 23 mars 2012 à 10 h 00 à la Cathédrale Saint-Boniface, 190 avenue de la Cathédrale, Saint-Boniface, MB., suivi des funérailles à 10 h 30. Le Père Albert Bouffard, o.m.i., présidera la célébration. L inhumation des cendres aura lieu au Cimetière St-Boniface de la rue Archibald le mardi, 27 mars 2012 à 11 h. La direction des funérailles est confiée au salon Mortuaire Cropo. Les Missionnaires Oblates de St-Boniface désirent remercier toutes les personnes qui lui ont procuré les bons soins à la Villa Aulneau. Sister Olivine Fiola passed away at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the age of 92. She was a member of the religious Congregation of the Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface for 65 years. Sister Olivine was born in Ste-Geneviève, MB, on February 9, 1920. Her father, Ferdinand Fiola was born in Rimouski, QC and her mother, Noëlie Brisson was born in La Broquerie, MB. She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Joséphine, Angèle (the late Auguste Proulx), Marie (the late Hubert Hacault), Armandine, Elisa (the late Charles Auguste Roy), Thérèse (Hubert Robidoux), Florida (Gaëtan Hutlet), and by her brothers Joseph (the late Madeleine Ledet), Arthur (at a young age), Arthur (the late Jeannette Baron), Pierre, Emilien (the late Aurélie Morin), Aimé, Louis, Amédé, Jules and one sister-in-law, Dora Lebrun (Rosaire). She leaves to mourn her passing the members of her religious congregation, her brother, Rosaire, her sisters-in-law Elmire Morin (Pierre), Jeanne Hacault (Louis), Connie Rios (Amédé), Claire Robidoux (Jules), her brothers-in-law, Hubert Robidoux (Thérèse), and Gaëtan Hutlet (Florida), and numerous nieces and nephews. Prayers are on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel at Villa Aulneau, 601 Aulneau Street, Winnipeg, MB. Viewing will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012, at the St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 Avenue de la Cathédrale, St. Boniface, MB, followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Father Albert Bouffard, o.m.i., will preside the celebration. Interment of the ashes will take place on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald Street. The Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Villa Aulneau for their care and compassion. Donations in memory of Sister Olivine Fiola may be sent to the Manitoba Catholic Church of the Deaf at 285 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg, MB. R3L 2E1. 586-8044

Thanks for sister Fiola teaching me about God and bible when I was little girl and now, I miss her always, she is very good woman how she was support and take care of things what matter needs to be. Sincere sympathy to the family, so sorry to hear of Sister Fiola's passing. I miss you dear Sister. I have been away for sometime and just got home. It was a surprise to hear of your passing. I offer her a deeper sympathy for my beloved second-mother, Sister Olivine Fiola and she worked very hard in building a new special apartment block, Kiwanis Center of the Deaf centre for 30 years and she worked hard in establishing straight relationshiop with deaf people in many church organizations and clubs.
