KATHLEEN MARY TOOLE (WOOD)
Date of Passing: Mar 24, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN MARY TOOLE (nee WOOD) Kathleen died on Saturday, March 24, 2012. It would be wonderful if she could stay with those that loved her but that cannot be. She will be remembered as she was when she was youthful, vibrant and healthy. She suffered in her last few years, so it is better that her suffering is over. Kathleen was born in Winnipeg in 1918, to a wonderful family who gave her Christian family values and formed her outgoing personality and her kind and giving character. She met George at a Hydro dance in 1938, and they married on August 28, 1940. They had two sons, David in 1942, and Gary in 1945. She instilled in her children the same strong family values she had. She led a full and busy life. She was active in her community, freely giving her time to her family, her many friends and the causes she held dear, including her church, St. Patrick's, then St. Aidan's. She worked as a volunteer at the Canadian Red Cross for over thirty years. She was very outgoing and social and a great bridge player with her many friends. The gatherings she and George held for friends and family at the Toole Box, and later at their farm on the Seine River near Lorrette and their Boxing Day gatherings in their home were wonderful, giving expressions of her generous and caring life. She will be loved and remembered by her son David, her three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St Aidan's in the summer. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

David and family: My sincere condolences to you all. I was very saddened to read of your mum's passing. I will always remember the lovely time we had at your river retreat in Lac du Bonnet (the exact place is fuzzy in my mind). I also saw her in Grant Park High School when she was doing volunteer work and I was teaching. She was a lovely lady and she has a special spot in my memories and my heart. It is very sad when we lose a parent but quality of life is also important. Sally - Posted by: Sally Slade Cranston (long time friend) on: Mar 27, 2012
