VERONICA WIDLA Veronica Widla born July 2, 1926 passed away suddenly at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Beloved mother of daughter Julia Widla and her husband Eric Randall, she was predeceased by her husband Julian Widla and daughter Ellen Widla. Veronica will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends and neighbours. Funeral Service was held on Friday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment followed in Holy Ghost Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of ACSS Ward (7A South) at the St. Boniface Hospital for their wonderful care of Veronica and concern for her family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Boniface Hospital ACSS Ward would be gratefully acknowledged. 586-8044

Our family has so many wonderful memories of Veronica, who was our mother's best friend. They went through many hard times together in the course of coming to Canada and establishing themselves here. But they always had hope for a better life and fortunately, they did achieve it, through hard work and good humour. Always good humour. We have so many funny stories to remember her by. On behalf of our family, we would like to extend our condolences to Julia and Eric. Your mother was a vibrant person and a ray of sunshine in our neighbourhood. We were always amazed by her energy, and how she took such great care of her yard and garden. Her independence was an inspiration and we enjoyed seeing her motoring around the Norwood Flats in her Smart car (great idea by the way!). While we are saddened by Veronica's passing we are grateful for having known her.
