MARGARET ELLEN THERRIEN (THOMPSON) December 27, 1940 - March 28, 2012 With great sadness the family of Margaret Therrien announces her passing on March 28, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer at age 71. Surrounded by loved ones, our beloved Margaret was released from enduring any further pain to the arms of her predeceased husband of 52 years, Guy Therrien. Left to forever cherish Margaret's memories and life lessons are her loving children, Rick (Joanne), Debbie (Randy), Janice, Wayne (Jean) and Cheryl. Margaret will stay alive in the hearts of her brother Robert (Gayle), brother-in-law Roland (Loraine), and sisters-in-law, Laurette (Norman), Lucy and Dora. Margaret also leaves to mourn her 18 grandchildren who will always embrace the happiness she gave us, touching each and every one of our hearts. Margaret's five great-grandchildren were blessed with the opportunity to have experienced the creativeness, caring, humble woman she was. Margaret was the only daughter born to a family of four of Winnipeg Beach. Margaret took a great deal of pride in the accomplishments of her family members over the years and has instilled strong family values to forever be remembered. We will all miss the laughter, marvelous cook, hardworking, world traveler, gardener, and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and kind woman she was. The family express sincere thanks to Dr. Jolly and Dr. Van Rensburg for the impeccable care and patience she received over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. A celebration of the Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at St. Timothy Parish, 135 John Forsyth Road. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550

  • Margaret was my first Supervisor when I started at CRA. She was always a kind and dear person to me. She went out of her way to help me when I had personal problems in my life back back then.
