My little tribute is a mere testament to a woman who was beautiful inside and out. I wish I had just a few of her qualities. Anne - Posted by: Anne Hayden (Acquaintance) on: Apr 01, 2012

We met Sandy and Lois in Prince Rupert where we were next door neighbors. We have had wonderful relations for all these years, having visited them in Prince Albert, Winnipeg, and Qualicum. Lois and Sandy always made us so welcome. We were so sorry when we were advised that Lois was not well and then devastated when she passed away. We offer our sincere condolences to Sandy, Scott, Todd and families. - Posted by: Arnold and Trudy Amonson (Friends) on: Apr 01, 2012

Goodbye to a wonderful friend! I can hardly believe that she went to be with a higher power. It all happened so fast. I was just talking to her a couple of weeks before her passing and she had a positive attitude and we both agreed that she was going to beat cancer. She was comforting me in some of life's problems which seem minor to everything she was going through. I have her picture and the flowers next to my computer which I look at frequently. Memories of the north, Sandy would bring Todd and Scott up fishing and our family would go to Prince Albert and enjoy the wonderful hospitality with Sandy and Lois and boys. Moving to Winnipeg brought us together once again. Lois and I had our daily walks and many wonderful conversations. When Sandy and Lois moved it left a hugh void in our lives! I have no words to express how saddened I feel other than "I'm truly sorry" to Sandy, Scott, Todd and families. - Posted by: Marion & Bill Menzies (Friends) on: Apr 01, 2012

I remember Sandy's single days in Brandon and of course Lois, the wonderful person that he met in Brandon. Their attendance at my wedding at Russell in 1969 will always be remembered. I fondly remember our visit to Inuvik NWT in 1972 and the visit of Sandy, Lois, Scott and Todd to our home near Teulon when Sandy lived in Winnipeg. Lois was such a wonderful caring person and she will certainly be missed by all. - Posted by: Dennis Hawkins (friend) on: Apr 01, 2012

We have many wonderful memories of Lois (& Sandy), and find it unbelievable that Lois is gone. We were not able to attend the Memorial Service, and thus have not been able to say "good-bye", or "until we meet again" to help us make closure. I had a lengthy phone conversation with Lois after her surgery while she was in the hospital - I will forever cherish that. She sounded so strong and optimistic - she comforted ME! Since we share our children, we have also shared various occasions together. Sandy, your home has always been a very warm and welcoming and hospitable place for us - Lois was a wonderful cook. Her vibrancy was very infectious. We will miss her. - Posted by: Tony & Ruth Novak (Friends) on: Mar 31, 2012

I remember: - the smile of a friend when we lived across the hall in the Red Apartment in Inuvik. -Alan's diapers taken out of laundry and dried and folded!! -down at Boot Lake looking at the airplane that Sandy and his good friend had "made" -RCMP formal Balls in Inuvik -Scott and Lois coming over for a visit in Aklavik! -Scott Todd and Lois visiting when they lived in Prince Rupert--were they in the RCMP Goose? -Lois and Sandy and the kids exploring the beach here at Yellow Point--Todd did fit in one of the caves in those days! Gathering starfish ---to put under my tomatoe plants. Visits were --- many times over the years. Memories now! Todd introducing us to Jana--Sandy and Lois were in the process of building the retirement home in Qualicum--it was great to connect with Todd--Sandy and Lois were staying with us. Memories. Lois was very happy that she would now have a daughter in law. I had told Lois --that sometimes there might be something --to do with weddings --that she would like me to be there--like showers etc. Well she phoned me--Charlene was being given a shower in Vancouver. Could I come with her? Well we went on the ferry --were met and taken to Charleens parents home---then to a complex --where some of Charleen's best friends lived. We had a wonderful time--were treated like two queens! On the return trip--Lois said---it was so wonderful that you came with me! I asked why? Lois said that she was nervous meeting all these women--who thought that Charleen was so special! Charleen --you are special and were special to Lois! The days that Todd was in the NBA were very special to Lois. Hopefully you can bring her grandchildren to sit in the caves that you did as a child. In latter years --we enjoyed Lobster Dinners-Christmas-especially last fall when we brought Maritime Lobster home with us --it was the last time I saw Lois in full form. See you in a later life Lois. Lois was a friend that we valued for her kindness and thoughfulness. As a member of a group of friends that worshipped together, that socialized together and sang together she will be greatly missed. - Posted by: George & Beverly Millar (Friends) on: Mar 31, 2012

I remember meeting Lois in the apartment in Inuvik. She always had a friendly smile. Many times I would wash Alan's diapers in the laundry room and forget about them--- when I would go to put them in the dryer---they would be folded --ready for me to pick up. The angel of course was Lois. - Posted by: Betty Pearse (friend) on: Mar 31, 2012

Such a beautiful photo and tribute to a truly beautiful and talented lady. We shared laughter and stories and compassionate moments a few years ago with Lois and Sandy's visits to our home in Oregon. The years simply faded away when we were able to be together. Her smile will never be forgotten. A joy to have been your friend Lois since way back in 4-H competition days. Sandy, Todd and Scott our prayers are with you. - Posted by: Margaret Hawkins Deveraux (friend and colleague from Extension Home Economist days) on: Mar 31, 2012
