Hello to the Monkman family: I am sending my regrets at having now just learned of Lizzie's passing. Wish I could have come to her funeral to see you all and share some of the fond memories I have of Lizzie and all of you growing up together. I remember Lizzie had a good sense of fairness. She may have seemed tough at times but a good scolding was likely well deserved. Speaking for myself of course. I recall winter skating, snaring rabbits stories, summer baseball and football in the fields, bike riding, and egg tossing exploits. Not to forget the hours spent fishing along the river banks as kids on summer holidays. I used to see Lizzie from time to time when I visited home care patients in the block on Eveline St. She always was so well styled with not a hair out of place and make-up done perfectly. She always remembered my little sister Cathryn as "the most beautiful girl in the world!" Last and most important if it wasn't for Lizzie's generosity in keeping her family all together I might not be smiling with so many wonderful memories of growing up with you all as friends and neighbours. You must all be comforted in knowing that she will be welcomed and honoured in heaven for all her sacrifices and good deeds here on earth. Sorry again for your loss. Take Care everyone, Mary Lynne Fabas - Posted by: Mary Lynne (McIvor) Fabas (Friend) on: Apr 15, 2012

Thank you Auntie for all your kindness when I was small. I always said "you were the prettiest auntie there was". I still remember as a child listening to you sing along on the radio to "Mansion on The Hill" and your beautiful laughter. I was so glad to see you again and to meet your loved ones. May you rest in peace and love. Auntie Lizzie was my father's sister. My father was Hicks Kipling. - Posted by: Linda Kipling (Niece) on: Apr 12, 2012

I have many fond memories of Lizzie (and family members) visiting. Mom chasing me outside to play so they can visit. Me always sneaking back in so I could listen to their stories and laughter. As time went on there were the daily phone calls to one another (Lizzie, Mom, Tootie, Tannie, Jessie, Dotsie, Annie,...many more). I can still hear her and mom with their contagious cheerful laughter. I will always remember Lizzie giving praise "and who is this pretty girl?"; it wasn't long the children grew up and would tell me look there is "pretty lady". Lizzie leaves me with many fond memories to cherish. She was a huge support to my mother - greatly appreciated and never forgotten. My condolences to her family members. - Posted by: Ellie Stevenson (Lizzie and my mother (Victoria) first cousins) on: Apr 12, 2012
