IRENE STUPPARD 1927 - 2012 Irene Stuppard of Calgary, AB passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Mount Royal Care Centre. The only child of Elsie and Nelson Leatherdale, Irene spent most of her childhood years in Nesbitt, MB. While working in Winnipeg she met and married Donald Stuppard, who worked with Great West Life. They moved to Calgary where Don was employed with the Chevron Oil Co. Irene was active in the Oil Wives Club in Calgary and was well-known in ladies curling circles. In their retirement years, Don and Irene enjoyed trips abroad and winters in Scottsdale, Arizona. Irene is survived by her cousins, Gayle Malazdrewich of Winnipeg, MB, Lorna Monax (Dennis) of Grass Valley, CA, Marlene Heck of Costa Mesa, CA, Beryl (Bruce) Bays of Saskatoon, SK; and sister-in-law Norma Jackin of White Rock, B.C.; nieces and nephews, Colin (Dianna) Jackin, Linda (Jim) Morley, Judi (Steve) Peterson. Irene was predeceased by her husband Donald in October 2007; her parents Elsie and Nelson Leatherdale; aunts, uncles, including a special uncle Sid Stimpson. The support of two caring friends, Dorothy Holmes and Margery Miller is very much appreciated. Thank you to Irene's companion, Bonnie Murphy, Dr. Verbeek, and the staff at Mount Royal Care Centre. There will be no funeral service by request. A private graveside service will be held to inter Irene's remains with those of her husband.
