Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAITLIN JANE MANCER July 11, 1988 - April 10, 2012 Caitlin died unexpectedly in Burnaby, BC on April 10, 2012 at the age of 23. Caitlin was so many things - a gifted visual artist, an accomplished musician, a person with a deep empathy and understanding for children and animals. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Emily Carr University in May, 2011. She is survived by her loving parents, Kate and Alan, and by her brother Stephen. She is also survived by her grandmother, Lylah Myers of Winnipeg, by aunts, uncles and cousins, her soulmate and friend since kindergarten Loretta Laurin and her dear friend Mike Wilman. If friends so desire a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated, particularly those focused on the visual arts, on children or on animals. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Rest in peace Caitlin. We love you so much.

I never got to know Caitlin very well, a regret I will have to live with now. I knew her to be a kind gentle soul who never spoke an ill word of anyone. I wish I could have the chance to speak with her and learn about her life. May you find peace and love in heaven Caitlin. - Posted by: Evan Chapman (Elementary school friend) on: May 05, 2012

I was never close to Caitlin but I was close with many of her friends, and came to know her through them. I thought she was funny and admired her creativity. I am very sad to hear of her sudden passing and I send my love and support to her family and friends (especially our mutual friends, I'm just a skype chat away). My heart goes out to you all. <3 - Posted by: Taryn Gilstead (high school classmate) on: Apr 17, 2012

Alan and Kate --- Hi Al, Garry here. I haven't seen you both for many years--but I remember being at your house in River Heights when Caitlin was a little girl, and all the help you gave me (my 1st. car loan!) when I had just joined the Wasps. I am so sorry to hear about your sudden loss--my thoughts are with you both--Garry (Nick) - Posted by: Garry Nicholson (Old Friend) on: Apr 16, 2012

Her life story is far too long to write down here. In short, she was inspiration, motivation, loving, caring, TALENTED, a great role model for any child she met and her happiness and cheer was infectious and ALWAYS brought me out of my bad moods. I loved her with all of the love I could possibly give to her. She was truly amazing. Thank you for the far too short but cherished 7 years of your life. xoxo - Posted by: Michael Wilman ('Dear Friend') on: Apr 14, 2012

My mum told me today the tragic news. I haven't seen any Mancer for around 15 years. I remember when I was 5 years old and Caitlin joined the Mancer family. For her baby gift my mum had bought her a Precious Moments figurine. I have an amazing memory. I remember visiting the Mancer family in the early 90 s and having a blast with Caitlin and Stephen just goofing around being kids. I remember her loving music and wanting us to all listen. Tragic news. xo - Posted by: Bronwyn Moffatt (family friend) on: Apr 14, 2012
