(ANGELINA) IRENE PECK (née Tessier) On Thursday, April 12, 2012,after a lengthy illness, Irene Peck, aged 79, passed away at Golden Links Lodge in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald; and two sisters, Adeline and Jean. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Peter) and Beverly (Douglas) and grandchildren, David and Alyson. In addition, she will be deeply missed by her two sisters, Dorothy (Claude) and Shirley, brother-in-law Ken (Betty) and numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was born in Broad Valley, Manitoba, on August 28, 1932, but her family eventually settled in Winnipeg. She married Donald Peck in 1952 and joined him on his family farm near Clanwilliam, Manitoba. After raising their two girls on the farm, they moved into Minnedosa where Irene began her career as a health care aide at the Minnedosa Hospital. Her caring and compassionate disposition endeared her to her patients and colleagues. Upon her retirement, Irene and Donald relocated to Winnipeg to be close to their daughters and their grandchildren. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 20, at The Parish of St. Timothy, 135 John Forsyth Road, with Rev. Father Phil Daley presiding. Rite of Committal will follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Irene's family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful staff at Golden Links Lodge for the exceptional care given to her over the past years. Special thanks to Cathy, Lynne, Gayle, Judy, Anita, Noreen, Karen, Erin and all the staff of the special needs unit. The kindness shown to Irene and her family will never be forgotten.
