Jean was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Norm, her parents Laura and Leslie, one sister Ina, three brothers Lorne, Lloyd and Jack, and two sisters-in-law Ruth Ramsey and Mildred Bultz. Jean is survived by one sister Doreen (Harold); two sons Barry (Beth) and Brian (Joan); four grandchildren, Chris (Hollie), Cara (Mike), Scott (Marcella), Tori (Nicole) and their families; her extended family of brothers / sisters-in-law, Ray (Mildred), Clara Ramsey, Millie Ramsey, Bill Bultz, Bernice (Harold), Gordon (Iris), Boyd (Rita), as well as all her nieces and nephews. To honour Jean's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service at this time. Friends and family will be notified of interment and a Celebration of Jean's life will be held in the summer. The family would like to thank the Dominion City Home Care and the Morris Hospital staff as well as the care givers at the Morris Lodge for all the kindness, care and compassion Jean received while in their care. Special thanks to her hospital friend Doris who made her stay at the hospital more pleasant. Although our hearts are full of sorrow, we are comforted to know you are now at peace. We will always love you. In lieu of flowers, if friends or family so desire, a donation can be made in Jean's memory to the Dominion City United Church, Dominion City Recreation Inc., Roseau Crossing Heritage Park or other charity of their choice. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I have very fond memories of visiting "Auntie Jean's" house for a slice of freshly baked homemade bread after swimming all afternoon at the community pool. She always welcomed us in and fed us. Good bye Auntie Jean, you'll be missed and remembered always. Mitch - Posted by: Mitch Ostberg (Nephew) on: Apr 27, 2012

  • Jean's passing is a very sad event for so many, but we are comforted in the knowledge that she is at peace. She was truly a very fine lady, so warm, friendly, helpful, and mentoring to so many of my generation in Dominion City. Thank you, Jean. You were wonderful to us! - Posted by: Earle McVicar (Friend) on: Apr 23, 2012
