Her memory will be cherished forever by her best friend and husband Casey, her daughters Sherri Rothwell, Karen Gartner (Jesse), Marlene Funk (Len), and Carol MacDonald (Jamie), her seven grandchildren, her sisters Jean Cummings and June Horne (Wayne), her nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Alberta Bannister. Lorraine was born in Sydney, NS. She married the love of her life, Casey and moved to Winnipeg, MB where she and Casey raised their family. In 1988 they moved to Abbotsford, BC where they have continued to live. She retired in 2005 but retirement didn't last long. She spent the remainder of her years volunteering at Northview Community Church assisting in the kitchen and reception. Lorraine was most happy when she was serving others. We will miss Lorraine's incredible humour, generosity and caring spirit. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Cascades Hospice Centre. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the Northview Community Church in Abbotsford, BC.

Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die. In time may you find comfort with you memories and time with your mom/wife/sister/grandmother. xo Alle, Ed, Ava, Noah and Rhys - Posted by: Allison Winchester (neice) on: Apr 19, 2012

I still am finding this hard to believe. So many good times over the years. Such a terrible loss for the family and friends. Lorraine is at peace and gone home to be with her Saviour. That is the one thing that helps us to have hope. Love you Ken, Marlene, Sheri, and Karen. So sorry I could not be there. Aunty Marge - Posted by: Marge Reynolds (Sister -in-law) on: Apr 18, 2012

I will always remember Lorraine as being very tolerant with a bunch of crazies, while building your pools. I always wondered where you folks got to. I hope Lorraine didn't suffer. All the best Doug Sheppard. - Posted by: Doug Sheppard (Friend) on: Apr 18, 2012
