DANIEL TOMCZYK It is with immense sadness and heartache that we announce the very sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, son, and brother, Daniel (Waldemar) Tomczyk, on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Daniel leaves behind his wife Eden; his two children Mason Emil (five and a half years) and Chase Alexander (two and a half years); his mother Janina Richards; his sister Patricia Tomczyk (Jason); his mother and father-in-law Ellen Karr and Louis Leroeye; his sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Michael Patterson; his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews both in Winnipeg and in Poland. Daniel was predeceased by his father, Emil Jan Tomczyk (2005). Daniel was born in Winnipeg on December 9, 1978. He grew up in Transcona, attending Transcona Collegiate. Daniel miraculously survived a serious car accident in 1999, which allowed him to meet his wife Eden during their studies at the University of Manitoba in 2001. They married in 2004 and experienced the joy of expanding their family with Mason (2006), and Chase (2009). Daniel was always a family man. He loved his boys very much and took pride in talking about them and sharing pictures. He was always willing to help out family or friends in need. Daniel was very creative and had a talent for drawing, which he learned from his Dad. Daniel was kind and generous, and enjoyed playing with the many pets of the house, including Ajax and Karma (his newest buddy). Daniel's other interests included spending time outdoors, weightlifting, and sports. He had been a long time Toronto Blue Jays fan and of course was thrilled to see the return of the Winnipeg Jets. Daniel was employed by the Province of Manitoba as a Correction Officer at the Manitoba Youth Centre since 2002, and then transferred to Probation Services in 2006. Daniel's passing has left a huge void in our hearts and lives that will be forever unfilled. A funeral service was held on April 20, 2012. Pallbearers were Mark Komyshyn (best friend), Paul Zlobicki, John Kosa, Adam Glowala, Michael Patterson, and Jason Dudeck. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up for Daniel's children. Donations can be made at any Winnipeg CIBC bank to Eden Tomczyk and family trust fund .

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Shaarey Shamayim Cemetery, located at Main St. and Armstrong Ave. (enter gate 3). In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up, with Donations being made through any Winnipeg CIBC bank to Eden Tomczyk and family trust fund . Longer obituary on Saturday.
