FAYE (WOLFMAN) KATZ Faye Katz died peacefully at the Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre on April 11, 2012, at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her parents Rueben and Lottie Wolfman, and all of her four siblings, Sam, Harry (Belle), Yetta (Sidney) and Eleanor. She is survived by her sister-in-law Jean Wolfman and brother-in-law Sydney Corrin, her children Alex (Gail), Syva-Lee Wildenmann (Neil), and Joel (Wendy Chusid), and grandchildren Jordan and Rory Katz, Kfir Wasserman (Shannon) and Maya Eitan (Lior), Sophia and Estee Katz, and Ben, Dan and Richard Raber. Her funeral took place on April 12, 2012 at Rosh Pina Cemetery. Pallbearers were Neil Wildenmann, Kfir Wasserman, Jordan Katz, Rory Katz, Richard Raber, and Phillip Corrin. Mom was born on July 25, 1922 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she lived her entire life in the north end. Not long after being spotted by Avron Katz from across the room at a wedding, and pursued relentlessly, they were married in 1949. They spent over 60 years together, loving, struggling, dancing and successfully raising a family before Dad died in April 2010. Family and friends were the unifying theme of Mom's life. Her devotion to her parents, brothers and sisters, husband, children, grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews and her many dear lifelong friends was deep and profound. Together with our father, she took enormous pride and satisfaction from her children's lives. Although they had their share of struggles through the years, we never felt it. Together they gave us the greatest gift, a loving care-free home where each of us was cherished as we were, for who we were. During the last years of Mom's life, she was cared for with great tenderness, compassion and professionalism by the staff and volunteers at the Simkin Centre. We cannot thank them enough for their dedication to maintaining the highest quality of life possible for her. Donations in her memory to the Simkin Centre are welcome. Good-Bye, Mom.
