VIVIAN ADELAIDE CROZIER (nee MCQUADE) Peacefully, with family at her side, Vivian Crozier went to be with The Lord on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the age of 95 years. Predeceased by her parents Emma and James McQuade, brothers, Henry and Iver, and sisters Beulah Pelletier, Margaret O'Brien and Ruby Olynyk. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Gordon McQuade, children Jim, Patricia, Debbie (Dave Patsack), grandchildren Christine, Terri (James), Sharon, Tonya (Steve), Angie (Jon) and Joey (Alex), eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews and cousin Violet. Vivian spent her early years in Piney and moved to Miami, Manitoba, with her family where she received her education. Mom traveled to Toronto and worked as a waitress and also in a munitions factory. Joe and Vivian were married in 1941, at Miami. Joe went overseas during the war and she lived in Miami with their baby son, Jim until Joe returned two years later. Vivian was a stay-at-home mom to her three children for many years, cooking, sewing, canning, pickling etc., until the family moved to Portage la Prairie in 1966. She worked at Ralph's Store and then at Stylerite Department Store for sixteen years until she retired at age 66. Vivian liked everyone she worked with and loved her job selling men's clothing. She enjoyed fashion and was never one to think the styles of the youth were unusual or silly. Mom was a great cook and her Sunday dinner was something we all looked forward to. She was a wonderful dancer and loved all kinds of dance and music. Mom enjoyed watching figure skating, hockey and curling. Vivian could cheer loudly with the best of them. She could laugh at herself and had a great sense of humor. Mom lived the last nine and a half years of her life at The Lions Prairie Manor where she made many friendships with the staff there. Vivian was a devoted wife and mother, and gave true and total unconditional love to all of her children and grandchildren. The saying to know her was to love her never fit a person more perfectly than Mom. We have lost a wonderful lady but Heaven has gained an angel. She will be so missed. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Prairie Vineyard Fellowship Church, 107 Duke Avenue, Portage la Prairie, with Pastor Ray Willms officiating. A private family interment will follow the service and reception. As expressions of sympathy, if friends wish, donations may be made in Vivian's memory to the charity of one's choice. A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel 857-4021 A message can be left in the on-line guest book at www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
