He passed peacefully on April 23, 2012 in Kelowna, BC. He immigrated to Canada at 18. Finn was a brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a telecom engineer with the Manitoba Telephone System, and was proud to be inducted into the Telephone Pioneers of America. To know Finn was to know his love and talent for gardening. His Winnipeg-grown tomatoes were the stuff of legend. He continued his love of horticulture in retirement residing in Peachland, BC where, as well, he started The Prickly Pair Bed and Breakfast. Finn held the jobs of head gardener/butler and delighted many visitors with his jams and homemade bread. Finn is survived by his wife Beverley, his son John (Lorraine) Billehaug, daughter Dyan (Anthony) Connolly and son Robert (Diana) Barr, and sister, Jeanne Billehaug (Bjorn Peter) of Norway. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Parkinson Society of Canada. Finn battled the progressive condition for over 20 years with strength and courage.

On Father's Day 2012 we gave thanks to you Finn for all that were in our lives since we were 10 years old. So many decisions in our life were talked through with you. We loved Peachland and the second life you helped create with Mom. We will miss your voicemail messages "Hello Dyan and Anthony, this is Peachland calling". We will miss you. Forever loved. - Posted by: Dyan Connolly (Daughter) on: Jun 18, 2012

As a close friend of Dyan’s for the past “3-ish”decades, I have had the opportunity to spend many great moments with Bev, Finn, Dyan and Robbie. I remember Finn’s sense of humour, and his gift of conversation. His love for his garden, his pets and the outdoors were catalysts for wonderful talks that we shared together. One of my most cherished visits was when I had the opportunity to introduce Donny to Finn and Bev in Kelowna a few years ago. Finn toured us around their comfortable home and he proudly showed off his colorful gardens and Happy, their four legged friend. To wrap up our visit, we had a fabulous brunch, lakeside at Hotel Eldorado overlooking Lake Okanagan. Spending time with them was a highlight of our trip. Bev & Happy, Dyan & Anthony, Robbie & Diana and Family, We send you our love and prayers during this difficult time. Love, Tracey and Don - Posted by: Tracey Hrab Forester () on: May 07, 2012

I worked with Finn in Equipment Engineering from 1968-1978. I remember his sence of humor most. He was a very sweet man and kind to a young 18 year old just starting her first job. God bless him. - Posted by: Laura Peluso (former co-worker) on: Apr 25, 2012
