I was shocked and saddened to read Peter's obituary and have thought of him every day since. We lost touch years ago, but certain people make an impact on your life and he was definitely one of them. I remember his warm smile like it was yesterday. I am happy to know that he made a difference in this world doing something he was passionate about and that he was loved. My sincere condolences to his family. - Posted by: Michelle Lalonde (Friend) on: May 17, 2012

My heart is heavy that such a loving soul was taken from us too soon. Peter and I had an instant connection when we met as we were both the Newbies in Windsor Park Collegiate. He sat behind me in our french class and on our first day our french teacher spoke french only. I was completely lost and turned and asked him if he had any clue what she was saying he replied not a word. He smiled his warm smile and our friendship began. Sure wish we had been able to contact him for our 25th reunion. Rest in peace "Petah" I am blessed to have met you! - Posted by: Lori Hessner Unsworth (Highschool Friend) on: Apr 30, 2012

I just recently heard the news of Peter's passing and find myself saddened that I wasn't able to connect with him to share info about the 25th Anniversary Reunion of our class last May. We spent the weekend reminiscing about all the grads who couldn't make it and those of our friends no longer with us. On behalf of the Class of '86, I send our deepest condolences on your loss. Peter was a bright light during our school days. We all LOVED his accent and beautiful laugh. He was a true friend who was warm, witty and charming. I remember his athleticism during gym class and his fancy footwork on the back soccer fields behind the collegiate. Always with a quick smile, a high five and a smirk - Peter was a friend I was really hoping to see last May. I know I'm not alone. Many of us wanted to reconnect with him and catch up on his life. To read that he was married with children, and a nurse helping others - well, that part made me smile. He was always compassionate and a leader. Even though we lost touch, I'll always remember how he impacted our class. Trendy, funny, with the propped polo shirt collars, multiple watches, fun sneakers...he was way ahead of his time. Thank you for all the laughter Pete! We had many a chuckle in the cafeteria and in gym class. Rest in Peace old friend. You will be missed. Here is a poem I love, and I think Peter would have liked it.. Especially for Lauren, Ella and Aidan. Lots of love to you all, and may you all stay strong during this difficult time. I'm Still Here Please don't mourn for me I'm still here, though you don't see. I'm right by your side each night and day And within your heart I long to stay. My body is gone but I'm always near. I'm everything you feel, see or hear. My spirit is free, but I'll never depart As long as you keep me alive in your heart. I'll never wander out of your sight- I'm the brightest star on a summer night. I'll never be beyond your reach- I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach. I'm the colourful leaves when Autumn's around And the pure white snow that blankets the ground. I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond, The clear cool water in a quiet pond. I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring, The first warm raindrop that April will bring. I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine, And you'll see that the face in the moon is mine. When you start thinking there's no one to love you, You can talk to me through the Lord above you. I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees, And you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze. I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep And the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep. I'm the smile you see on a baby's face. Just look for me, I'm every place! - Posted by: Pauline McKeown (Sister) on: Apr 29, 2012
