SHEILA STEWART (nee BROWNIE) It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our mother and grandmother on Thursday, April 26, 2012. Mom was born July 23, 1947 to William and Lorna Brownie. Mom attended Kelvin High School where she met and would eventually marry the love her life Bob Stewart. Sheila was predeceased by her parents, sister Marg, and husband Bob. Left to cherish her memory is daughter Margie (Carlos), son Jim Stewart (Anne Plamondon), Laura Stewart. Grandchildren, Cassandra, Kaitlyn, Nicole, Chantal, and Robbie. Mom will also be sadly missed by her faithful companion Dusty, dear friends Nancy Birch, Jean Marrese, Colleen Hockin, Connie Thorn and Keith Findlay. We would like to thank everyone at Gardewine for all they did for mom since dad's passing as well as the support of Darlene Barber during this very difficult time. At mom's request, a private memorial has taken place. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Humane Society in her memory.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Your mom and I went to Montrose School together. We'd play at her house on Montrose Street, after school, then I would walk home to my house on Cambridge Street. We then went on to attend Grant Park High where we graduated. I left Winnipeg shortly after that and your mom and I lost touch. Judy Doran wrote me about your mom's passing. It brought back our childhood memories. I'm so sorry about your mom's passing. I would like to speak with you, please call me, collect, in B.C. at the number listed above. - Posted by: Diane Weber nee: Anderson (friend) on: May 03, 2012

  • I was so sorry and stunned to hear of Sheila's passing. Sheila and I were great friends along with Marilyn, Jean, Lynne and Les. I moved away before your Mom married Bob. About 12 or so yrs ago your Mom and the girls called me from her backyard. I will be forever grateful to her for reconnecting us. Was so looking forward to seeing her in August. She was full of fun. - Posted by: Jan Williamson (nee Booth) (High School Friend) on: May 02, 2012

  • I went to Montrose School with Sheila, as well as Grant Park. We also went to Girl Guides together. Her Mother was the Guide leader. Her sister Marg, was with us alot also. I lost track of Sheila and Bob when they moved away from Windsor Park. I'm so sad to hear of her passing. I had hoped to get in touch with her to relive the "OLD" days...........I had only met her two children when they were preschoolers. At times life is so unfair, but we do get through the hard times.......I will be thinking of her family at this sad time.........Judy Walton (Doran) - Posted by: Judy Walton (Doran) (old school friend.....) on: May 01, 2012
