CHRISTINE HARRIS
Date of Passing: May 01, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTINE HARRIS It is with profound sadness that the family of Christine (Dot) Harris announces her passing on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Forever missing Mom are her children, Jack (Karen) and Marilyn (Ernie); grandchildren Lee (Crissi), Aynsley (Marc), Blake, Christey, Leanne (Kevin) and Bryan; great-grandchildren Portia, Cody and Cameron. Also grieving Mom are her devoted sister and brother, Vera and Jack (Roberta). She was predeceased by her husband, Mike, and brother-in-law, Fred. As a parent, Mom was a dream come true. She was loving, wise, supportive and most importantly, a best friend. From burning the midnight oil and putting the finishing touches on a dress for the school dance to volunteering to assuring that back door was left unlatched beyond curfew hours, she infinitely did it all and more. When Mom became a grandmother, her grandchildren were also blessed with her boundless love and wisdom. Whether it was sports, fashion, or relationships, she always had some insightful advice to pass along. Mom loved to shop and she and Dad enjoyed their jaunts to Grand Forks, as well as many winter vacations in the southern states. She was a definite advocate of retail therapy, an attribute she thankfully passed along to her daughter and granddaughters. Mom you were simply the best. In compliance with Mom's request no formal Funeral Service will be held. A family gathering will be held at a later date. Our family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the devoted and caring staff of the Third Floor at Lions Care Facility for the exceptional care of Mom over the past two years. Thank you. If so desired, donations may be made in her name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Mom, you are at peace now. Enjoy your reunion with Dad, and be assured that loving memories of you will remain with us eternally. We love you Mom.

I enjoyed working with Christine for many years at Teachers Library & Resource Centre for the Winnipeg School Division. I do remember that she did enjoy her shopping. She was very proud of her family. - Posted by: Eva Fleming (Co-worker) on: May 07, 2012
