I first met Dr. McCaffrey in the labor and delivery room at Victoria Hospital in 1977. From that moment on he became my primary physician. I found him to be a warm and caring man and he later delivered my 2 other children. I lost touch with him when he left for Liberia. I'm sure he is missed by many. - Posted by: Sharon Leggatt (Patient) on: Jun 27, 2019

Trudy is a cousin on my mother's side, Mildred Peat, and I believe I only met him once when I visited both Trudy and Gary in their home in Winnipeg just before leaving for overseas. I extend my condolances to Trudy and family and would love to make contact with Trudy again. Please email or call Trudy if you are also interested in catching up. Its been a long time but family is important. Blessings - Posted by: Sharon Rand (nee Peat) (Cousin of Trudy) on: Jul 28, 2012

I met Dr. McCaffrey in St Boniface when delivering my firstborn in 1971. He was so kind and gentle and impressed me so much that he became my family physician, also delivering my second child in 1976. He continued to care for my family's health until 1990. He was a wonderful Doctor and is remembered very fondly. RIP Dr. M. - Posted by: D (Patient) on: Jul 17, 2012

When I first met Dr. McCaffrey asa recently graduated RN in neonatology at St. B. I was impressed by his dedication and concern for his patients, so we chose him as our family physician. I know he put in long hours, and early as he arrived for rounds, he had already been out jogging. We were sad when he left Winnipeg. He saw many patients in a day but was more thorough than some doctors only seeing half as many. - Posted by: Roberta Beach (patient) on: Jun 01, 2012

Dr. Mccaffrey was devoted to his patients and to his family. He was a kind and gentle man and gave tirelessly to his community. Who but Garry McCaffrey would spend his holidays working in Liberia or with Mother Teresa in India. - Posted by: Shelley G.Mitchell (patient) on: May 09, 2012

My relationship with G.B. McCaffrey was both professional and personal. He was a great person and he possessed many fine qualities that we all admired greatly and he will be remembered by us all. - Posted by: Angela and Family (niece) on: May 08, 2012

He was my childhood family doctor for many years. My parents were seeing him before I was born. He delivered me and my siblings. My Mother still refers to him as the best doctor she's ever had and compares him over any other doctor today. My mother always told me he was one doctor that went out of his way for his patients. Thank you. - Posted by: Rosnow (Patient) on: May 08, 2012

Words cant describe what Gary along with his siblings, The Ruxtons, his grandparents and Trudy meant to me. We named our first born James Garfield, which might indicate the love, admiration and respect that I had for my dear friend. The last time I visited with Trudy and Gary was a stop over they had in Toronto when they were on there way to Liberia. Forever etched in my mind are the fond memories of Gary and his family and my heart aches for your loss. God bless each of you, Floyd (Fudd) Owen. - Posted by: Floyd (Fudd) Owen (Friend) on: May 06, 2012
