RUTH MAYER (nee BLUE) It is with deep regret, that we announce the sudden death of Ruth Mayer on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 90 years. Left to forever cherish Ruth's memory are her beloved husband, Arthur, of 57 years of marriage; brother Rodney; sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Marjorie Blue, and brothers Norman, John, Peter, Lorne, and Raymond. Ruth was employed by Canada Packers for 30 plus years. In her retirement years, she enjoyed knitting and volunteered many hours with the Army and Navy Legion Unit #283. On Friday, May 11, 2012 Ruth's Interment for family will be held at 10:30 a.m. in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. A luncheon will follow in the ANAVETS, Unit 283, 3584 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may made be made to a charity of your choice.

  • Aunty Ruth was a very special person as everyone was invited into her house & Was welcome, I'm here for the summer visiting my dad, I was going to go & visit them while I was here.   • I am sorry to here about auntie Ruth. I regret not having called on your 90th birthday,I am sorry. But I do cherish the few visits over the years(at our home) in Edmonton and the occasional drop in out of the blue visits I made when traveling across the west in my youth. I am so glad that Mom (Joyce) and I came out to spend time with you and Aunt Ruth last September, we had lots of laughs and good times. We will miss Aunt Ruth as you will.
