GERALD ROBERT LUC BERARD June 7, 1954 - May 7, 2012 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our Dad, Daddio, Papa, Brother (in-law), Uncle and Friend. Gerald passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012 in St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 57, after a long, hard battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Antoine and Lea Berard, sister-in-law Judy Berard, brother-in-law David Danby, and his pooch Sparky. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Tammy (Steve) Zacharias, grandchildren Isaac and Kayleigh; Tracy (Brad) Komyshyn, granddaughter Danica; his son Shane; brothers George (Alexis), Eddie, Ron (Cathy), and sister Eveline Danby; as well as aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews, and his faithful poopalie Kira. Gerald was an avid sportsman and loved all things outdoors. He shared many great memories with his family while on camping, fishing and hunting trips. Whether it was a day trip to Lockport or a week trip to Bird Lake he loved to fish and was always in competition for the big one!! The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for taking such good care of Gerald. We All Love You and We'll All Miss You Cremation has taken place, a remembrance of his life will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m., at the Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive (in the basement hall). If desired, donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society or CancerCare Manitoba.

Gerry was a fun guy who loved a good joke (even when it was on him). We always had a good laugh together before he could "get the energy" to go home after work to let the dog out, and get some sleep. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and worked with him.
