FRIESEN 1926 - 2012 Our father, Dave Friesen, of Steinbach, died peacefully in his sleep at the Bethesda Hospital on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the age of 85 years. He was born November 16, 1926 and raised on a farm near Rosenfeld, MB. He is survived by Diana (Elmer) Tokarchuk, Lloyd (Lisa) Friesen, Dale (Medora) Friesen, Debbie (Bruce) Baergen, seven grandchildren, sisters Teenie Funk (Bill deceased), Helen Nickel (Peter deceased), Esther (Abe) Penner, and brother Glen (Marie) Friesen, sisters-in-law Betty and Hilda (Ed), and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his wife, Marjorie and her family: Irma, Audrey, Ted, Tony, and Tim and their families. He was predeceased by his first wife Helen (nee Fast), son Donald, his parents Isaac and Helena Friesen, and his siblings Abe, Henry (Erna) and John, and brothers-in-law Harold (Ann) and Henry Fast. Dad was a wonderful, caring, and honest person, well-respected in the community. We will miss his sparkling blue eyes and ready smile. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing prior to the service at the Grace Mennonite Church, 430 Third Street, Steinbach with Interment to follow at Heritage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Box 767, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2L4. Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030

Dear Friesen Family, We were sad to learn of Mr. Friesen's passing and our sympathy goes out to each of you. It was our pleasure to host him here at Big Whiteshell Lodge for so many summers. He was a gentleman, always smiled and often told us how much he valued his vacation time with all of you. He even shared many photos of your early family vacations here at the lodge.
