Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIVIAN JUNE PENNEY (nee THACKER) After a courageous battle with cancer, Vivian passed away peacefully on May 4, 2012 at the age of 72. Vivian leaves behind her brother Clarence (Linda) Thacker, sister Virginia Didham, sons John (Maggie), and Bob (Michele), grandchildren Chris, Derek, Kayla and Tim, great-grandchild Dylan, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Robert Thacker, sister Shirley Campbell, and her two favourite pets Toto and Brandy. Vivian resided and worked in Winnipeg, the city she loved and was proud to live in. Her mission in life was to help others. She spent her years working and volunteering to make people's lives brighter. At her last residence (Betelstadur), she started a coffee club. Vivian's final act of kindness was to donate all her worldly possessions to Osborne House to help women in need. A special thanks to all her friends over the years for the love and support, especially Eileen Glanfield, her friend of 46 years. Thank you to the Seven Oaks Hospital staff for their care and compassion shown to Vivian in her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Vivian's honour to a charity of choice. Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, with committal at Brookside Cemetery.
