I was shocked and saddened by the news that Marnie was ill. She was a wonderful strong woman and will be truly missed by all of you. We were very lucky to have her in part of our lives. Personally I have such fond memories as a former student of Marnie's in Domain School and then having my children at JA Cuddy. Such great memories we all have of her. Lorne, Cindy & Rodger, Bruce & Cheryl and families please know you are being thought of at this time. Take care. - Posted by: Kathy and Douglas Bunkowsky (Friends and former student) on: May 17, 2012

Marnie Erb was not only a wonderful Principal, she was an advocate for anti bullying. Mrs. Erb was always there to lend an ear to a child or parent, and as a mother herself she knew just what to say to make a child feel better. Marnie will be deeply missed by the community and everyone she has ever touched in life. - Posted by: Tammy Glidden & Family () on: May 17, 2012

Our deepest sympathy to you Lorne and your family. Having interacted with Marnie at many adm. meetings over the years, what always stood out was her pursuit of excellence in all she did. If anything was worth doing it was worth doing well. I respected her for her deep commitment to the welfare of all students. I first met Marnie when attending high school at the Morden Collegiate where we were classmates. Marnie was one of the first to welcome me to my new school. She was caring and kind with great sense of humour and always had a special twinkle in her eye. Her cheerful personality added light to whatever the surroundings. We never met again until our 50th high school reunion in 2007. It impressed me how she had not changed in any way had how much she had accomplished in her chosen field of education, how dedicated she was to her family and how proud she was of her grandchildren and their many accomplishments. My sympathy goes out to all the family. You were lucky to have had such a wonderful wife, sister, mother and grandmother God bless. - Posted by: Roy Crawford (friend) on: May 17, 2012

Marnie has had an impact on the lives of many people in our community through her life, with hard work and committment to whatever she took on. She was devoted to Education and being a very good teacher. Her ability to come across to all students gave them respect for her and our children hold that to this day. She will be missed by many whose lives have been deeply touched by her. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of her family and friends at this time of great loss. - Posted by: Kelly and Clint Epler and family (Parents of students) on: May 16, 2012

Mrs. Erb was not only my principal and teacher, but she was a great role model. I will never forget her and the love she gave to each one of her students. Of the many wonderful memories I have, the ones that stand out in particular are from grade 6 (95/96) ice cream making, learning other languages and cultures (Japan), and special stockings at Christmas. I will never forget you! - Posted by: Rebecca Herkert (Former Student) on: May 16, 2012

I was a student of Mrs. Erb at Domain School and JA Cuddy in Sanford. She was a wonderful teacher. She drove by our house, gravel flying, on PR334 on her way from Sanford to Domain in her red car while I waited for the bus. The sight of her car every morning made me very happy! - Posted by: Karen Keiller (Dyck) (Student) on: May 16, 2012

Our community has lost a real gem. Marnie was a genuine caring individual who helped our children feel comfortable in their new school when we moved to the community of Sanford. Her endless devotion to her family, work and countless hours of community volunteering will be missed greatly. It has been a great privilege to work with Marnie!! I will miss her at the board table. We have both enjoyed her at the social functions and meetings in the city. She was always so considerate, so kind, so fair, so genuine and so warm! Our thoughts are with you as a family, knowing you will miss her greatly. She was very proud of her family and often shared news about her grandkids. May the precious memories sustain you all! - Posted by: Jake and Joyce Cornelsen (Fellow School Trustee of the Red River Valley S.D.) on: May 15, 2012

Marnie touched the lives of so many through education, sports and music. Marnie taught my children and some of my grandchildren and was instrumental in helping Gail teach in the school and assisted he in the band program. As a co-worker she always had a friendly smile and a cheerful positive attitude that was contagious. We will all miss her, those of us fortunate to have known her were certainly blessed. I pray that God has a ball diamond for her to enjoy. I pray for the family that your grief may be softened by God's promises. - Posted by: Vern Henry (friend) on: May 15, 2012

Marnie was the teacher and principal while all four of my children went to JA Cuddy School. Because of her fairness and her ability to reason with children I always felt they were in wonderful hands. Because of Marnie I never had to worry about the safety of my children. My prayers and my eternal gratitude go out to Marnie's family. What a wonderful role model you have. She has found comfort and peace and we must find our way thru our sorrow. My prayers and love go out to all of you. What a beautiful legacy she has left. My deepest regrets.
