SAMUEL DENNIS WAYNE PUCHALSKI 1943 - 2012 It is with great sadness that the family of Sam Puchalski announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. Sam was born in Fort Frances, ON on March 28, 1943 to John and Nellie Puchalski. He attended Robert Moore and Fort Frances High School before he left to join the Royal Canadian Navy with his buddies from Fort Frances. After his navy experience, he chose the construction industry as his livelihood. Sam had a very kind, caring and generous nature. He especially loved to cook and we always looked forward to his delicious chili and other home cooked meals. He was also a devoted animal advocate who adored and cared for his dear, cuddly cat Sugar for over 20 years. He is survived by his three sisters: Judy Deschamps (Ron), Donna Gustafson (Gary) both of Fort Frances and Linda Murphy of Guelph, ON. Also surviving are his nephews and niece: Garnet (Lori) Deschamps of Anchorage, Alaska and their children Ryder and Colby; Ryan (Erin) Deschamps of Fort Frances and their children Matthew and Morgan; Kevin and Christina Murphy of Guelph, ON. Sam was predeceased by his father on January 7, 1989, his mother on October 24, 1999 and his precious cat Sugar . Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date. In memoriam donations may be made to: The Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. The family would like to thank the team at St. Boniface Hospital who cared for Sam during his illness, especially Jan and Kelly who we worked closely with and got to know and love Sam as we did. Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on, And cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, For as long as there is memory, they'll live on in our heart.
