Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROLAND OLIVER WHITFORD Roland Oliver Whitford, peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, May 17, 2012 passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Minnedosa District Hospital. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years Isabelle Whitford of Keeseekoowenin, MB and their children John, Roly, Laureen and Susan; as well as sisters Florna Whitford and Mary Gillis. He was predeceased by his son Brion; his parents Edward and Cecil; brothers Peter and Edwin and sisters Alma, Lily and Doris. Roland Whitford was born on December 6, 1932 in Sandy Bay, MB. He was raised in Amaranth. He moved his family into Winnipeg in 1960 and was a hard working man all his life until his retirement. He enjoyed watching sports, camping, and music and dancing, his passion was the fiddle and spending time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. He was an inspiration to us all. Wake Service will be held at Keeseekoowenin from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and also at the Amaranth Community Hall at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Amaranth on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Lunch to follow after the service at the Amaranth Community Hall. I can't believe it's been almost a year since you first got sick I have missed you every second of everyday. Those 23 years with you weren't enough. Life hasn't been the same, everyone says the pain goes away with time but it hasn't yet. I know you said don't cry it will be okay the pain is just too much to stop the tears. I know you're in a better place with no more pain and I am happy for that. Until the day I see you again just know you are the best grandpa a person could ever have.
