GARRY RONALD BATTISON 1941 - 2012 Peacefully on May 16, 2012 our loving dad and brother passed away in Saskatoon, SK at the age of 70. Garry was predeceased by his parents Anne (Tycholiz) and Les Battison. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, his pride and joy, Andrea Battison (Doug Mills) of Charlottetown, PEI, his sister Janice Battison of Winnipeg, MB and many cousins and friends. Garry was born and raised in Winnipeg. He moved to Saskatoon where he worked as the District Sales Manager for Western Smallwares for 20 years. Garry loved music. This began in his early years with the Boy's Choir at St. Matthews Church, Winnipeg, and continued through much of his life. He was an accomplished accordion player and his rendition of Lady of Spain was a definite favourite of all. Garry also enjoyed dancing - ballroom, country, line and of course, jive. He especially looked forward to his Thanksgiving trips to Winnipeg to visit family and friends. Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice. Always remembered

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Janice & Andrea, Take comfort from the words of Mahatma Gandhi; "Birth and death are not two different states, but they are different aspects of the same state. There is as little reason to deplore the one as there is to be pleased over the other." You are in our thoughts and we offer our deepest sympathy in this difficult time. - Posted by: Barb, Keith, Jessica & Molly (Friends) on: May 24, 2012

  • Garry and I attended school and sang in St. Matthews boys choir. He and I both played the accordion. I visited him in Saskatoon early on. We lost touch when I moved to Calgary. Garry was a good friend. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Jack Fileccia (Friend and Choir mate) on: May 24, 2012
