Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD JEFFRIES ROGERS It is with great sorrow that we announce the loss of Len Rogers, beloved husband, father and grandfather who passed away on May 15, 2012 at Extendicare Oakview Place with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Edith Rogers, and sisters Eileen Moir and Joyce Coates. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Olga, daughters Gaylene Waddell (John), Lorelee Lytle (Robert) and Leslie Cleven (Larry), grandchildren Jeff, Creag, Brian and Raegan, his sister Cicely Slack of Amherst, Nova Scotia and numerous nieces and nephews. Len was born on December 7, 1923 in Little Bourton, Oxfordshire, England and moved with his family to Canada in 1929 where they settled in New Brunswick. Len joined the Air Force in 1942. After being discharged in 1946 he moved to Winnipeg and married his soul mate, Olga Johnson. That same year he joined Eaton's as a carpenter. In 1954 Len built the family home in Charleswood and together they raised their three girls. Len retired from Eaton's in 1985 as Project Manager. During his retirement Len enjoyed music, photography, gardening and looking after his home and yard. He continued his interest in carpentry and he hand built numerous pieces of furniture and crafts for the family to enjoy. He was a true craftsman. The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Oakview Place for the care and compassion extended to Len during his stay. As per Len's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will celebrate his life and mourn his passing privately. His strength and courage will always be admired and remembered. He is sadly missed.
