Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANICE DARLENE (DESLAURIERS) LAWSON Janice was granted her Angel wings on May 10, 2012. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Her loving husband Bob was by her side when she took her last breath. Janice was born on April 30, 1947 in Winnipeg. She married Bob on June 9, 1992. They had a wonderfully happy life together. Janice worked for Income Security for 32 years and retired in June 2002. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Bob, mother Patricia Deslauriers, her brothers Leo and Doug Deslauriers of Los Angeles, her sister Linda, her daughter Melody Hines (John) and her son David Allan (Jackie) and her special little friend, Meow the cat. She will be forever remembered by her beloved grandchildren Michael, Brendan, Feenix, Christopher, Sierra, David, Kingsley, Shilo and Chance. Janice was preceded in death by her father Joseph Deslauriers, brother Russell Deslauriers and her beloved dog Buster. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 9, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Highway.

I am so very sorry Bob and family for your loss. I will always have fond memories of my teen days with Janice and the friendship I felt when I did meet up with her again after so many years. My prayers are with you and your family that you will have the strength to get through this difficult time. I have a very fond memory of Janice from when I was a little boy. I remember her as a fun, vibrant, and caring woman. I will always remember her and her red 1960-something Ford Mustang in West Virginia. Her racing my uncle in his gold 1960-something Chevy Impala as they took all of us kids on a road trip to a beach. Janice and I met as young teens and have been friends for over fifty years...we were roommates several times and somehow managed to remain friends thru boyfriends, husbands, children, my move to the US, illness and everthing else life has thrown at us. We grew up together yet apart...her in Wpg and me in Seattle. One summer I was put on the second shift at Boeing and had no child care for my son, his father was not available...guess who said send him to me...I didn't even ask her...if it wasn't for her I would have lost that job...she left work every day,and went home to make lunch for him.
