MARCELLA (MARCIE) LUCELLE HENDERSON It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our Dear Mother, Kokum, Sister, and friend Marcella Henderson (nee Bruyere) was a truly a beautiful soul who was loved by all who knew her. She was a hard working mother of three wonderful children, Matthew, Jill and Joshua. Marcella worked hard to provide for her children. Marcella was a very generous person who would offer help to her friends and family when needed. Marcie's caring nature helped her throughout her career. She received a degree as an Early Childhood Educator and was employed by Sagkeeng Child and Family Services for 14 years. Marcie then went on to work with Sagkeeng Education Authority, following in her Mother's footsteps working as the school Librarian. She enjoyed working for Dr. Hugo Lambrechts as his medical receptionist. In the younger years Marcie volunteered her time with the hot lunch program at the Sagkeeng Consolidated School. She loved volunteering her time in numerous community events. Marcie also enjoyed volunteering her spare time with The Sagkeeng Hawks as the team manager. She loved encouraging her children to play sports; she took great pride in watching them play any sport. She was a huge hockey fan. She recently had the opportunity to watch her son Josh play hockey at the Melvin Fontaine Memorial Hockey Tournament as he hasn't played for numerous years. Marcie was predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Sophie Bruyere, grandparents William and Angele Bruyere and Peter and Harriet Sinclair. She leaves to mourn her passing her sons Matthew (Michelle), Joshua and Chris (Linda) Henderson, daughter Jill (Kevin) Oman, grandchildren Madison, Blossom, Summer, Dwayne, Lynnae, Gavin, James, Anna Mae, Myles, Isis, Trayce and Lakeisha, ex-husband Derrick Henderson, brothers Etienne, Desmond (Audrey), Floyd (Kathy), Orville, and Roger (Shirley) Bruyere, sisters Clarice (Leslie), Irma (Morton), and Ursula Bruyere, god-children Tammy O'Laney, Sivana Bruyere, Carly Sinclair, and Steven Courchene, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Marcie is a true survivor; she survived residential school and breast cancer. Wake service will begin the evening of Friday, June 1, 2012 at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, Sagkeeng First Nation, Manitoba. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, Sagkeeng First Nation, Manitoba.   • Marcie was a great woman that truly loved her family and friends and never hestitated to scold us all if we got out of sorts lol Matty can attest to that LoL (thinking of work times) She was also a lot of fun and offered a lot of wisdom from her own life experience. I'll be having a glass of white wine and thinking of all the times we've worked together, drank together lol, and laughed together.
