Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA ANN WOOD (nee DAVIES) October 14, 1931 - May 18, 2012. Sadly, the family of Barbara Ann Wood announce her peaceful passing, after a brief illness, on May 18, 2012, in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Barbara was predeceased by her husband William Wood in 1971, her son Johnny in 1960, her mother Mildred Davies in 1984, her father Edward Davies in 1970, and her brother Peter in 2009. She was also predeceased by her life-long friend and sister-in-law Edith Davies in 2001. Left of cherish her memory forever are her daughter Sheila Williams, granddaughters Amanda (Ian) and Aimee (Todd), great-grandchildren Rhys, Caleb, Ava, and Kaidance, all of whom she adored. She is also survived by brothers Ted (Sandra) and John (Helene), sisters-in-law Nancy Wood and Sandra Wood, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Best friends that will miss Barb immensely are Joycelyn, Merrill, Joan, Dona, and Poppy and Wilma. Barbara was employed for several years for the Province of Manitoba, Lands Branch Department. She enjoyed many weekends through the years at the cottage in Oak Point, Manitoba. As per Barbara's wishes, there will be no service. A graveside memorial will be held at the family plot at the Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa in August.

Shelia; If this is the Barb Wood I remember from my past then I am so sorry to hear this but know that my mom Doreen Mutchmor (nee Pegler) is there with her and they are reunited as friends again. So many memories held dear in my heart throughout the years. I have a special place in my heart for Auntie Barbara. I will cherish the memories as long as I breathe.
