JUSTIN DANIEL LYSACK
Date of Passing: May 31, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUSTIN DANIEL LYSACK It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden, tragic passing of our son and brother Justin Daniel (JD). JD was granted his angel wings on May 31, 2012 at the age of 20 years. Left to forever cherish Justin's memory are his parents Darrin and Maria Lysack (Clark), brothers Andrew and Carter, as well as family pet Princess, grandparents Harvey and Nancy Lysack, uncles and aunts Brian (Christie) Lysack, David (Melanie) Lysack, Ed Oviatt, and Audrey (Vern) Ross, cousins Samantha (Bryan), Gordon, Tanner, Anders, Annie, Mollie, Paige, Aries, Brock and Wyatt, as well as numerous family members, friends and teammates. Justin was predeceased by his grandparents Norm and Irene Clark and aunt Karen Oviatt. Justin was born July 9, 1991 and instantly captured our hearts. He was a busy, active child, often seen with a mini hockey stick in his hand, enlisting his cat, his Grandmother and his brothers to be his goalie. He quickly grew into a fine young man who was an amazing son, brother and friend. Justin attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School, MBCI, and Garden City Collegiate, graduating in 2009. Justin loved sports, playing soccer, hockey, baseball, sponge hockey and ball hockey through the years, but his passion was lacrosse. He had the honour of representing Manitoba six times at National Championships in both box and field lacrosse. He had been employed at Sleep Country Canada since August 2011 and enjoyed his job, forming amazing new friendships with his co-workers. JD loved to have a good time whether it was with friends or family; enjoying nights out with his friends, playing hide and seek with his younger cousins or Pass the Ace at family functions, or spending weekends in Gimli. With Justin's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, especially his winning smile, he will remain forever in our hearts and will live on in the lives of others from organ and tissue donation. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Mary Wilson who worked valiantly with Darrin to help Justin until medical help arrived, the City of Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service, the staff at Victoria General Hospital Emergency, especially Lynn and Kevin and the entire lacrosse community who have honoured Justin's memory. A mass in celebration of Justin's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2012 at St. John Cantius Church, 846 Burrows Avenue. A private interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Justin's memory to the following: KidSport, 145 Pacific Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2Z6 or Right to Play Canada, 65 Queen Street West, Suite 1110, Box 64, Toronto, ON M5H 2M5. Words and wishes seem inadequate during times of such sorrow, but you should know your loss has been felt deeply by many. May you find peace in Justin's gift, both to your family and to others. You obviously raised him in a home generous in love, support, and kindness, which he in turn shared with those around him. And in such a profound time in your lives you have continued to be generous with your bittersweet gift. I'm holding you in my thoughts. - Posted by: Candace Kelm (Friend of parents) on: Jun 09, 2012

Dear Maria, Darrin and Family - our thoughts are with you. When you are involved in a sport like lacrosse, all the kids become one big family. We have known Justin since he was about 6 years old. Our son Ryan and Justin spent many years on the hockey rink and lacrosse rink together playing. Justin always took it upon himself to look out for Ryan and other small kids on his team. Our daughter Jodi had the pleasure of sitting for Maria and Darrin on many occasions and it was like an extended family. Justin was a great kid and became a great young man. He will be missed dearly by all that knew him. We are terribly sorry for your loss and our hearts ache for you and the pain you are going through as a family. Justin, Andrew and Carter will always have a special place in the hearts of the Dirr family. - Posted by: Ron, Joyce, Jodi & Ryan Dirr (Friends) on: Jun 05, 2012

We have been reminiscing about the great memories we have shared with each other as a family, but even moreso the boys are sharing their stories and memories of their time spent with Justin through the IHMS school years and team sports. Justin was an awesome strong caring individual who we know is watching over you during this very difficult time and will be your guardian angel forever! He was a great young man. We will never forget how he went to find our daughter (at her first year at Uke. camp) to "meet" the cousin he hadn't met yet. That, we will never forget, that made such an amazing impression of the type of person he was (kind and caring). Darrin, Maria, Andrew and Carter, take strength from family and friends at this time, and know that Justin will always be watching over you. - Posted by: David, Kim and Kailynn Newediuk (Cousins) on: Jun 05, 2012
